Falconry swivels as used in the twentieth century. Derek Washingtons swivels were one of the first of the new style swivels with a spacer between the upper and lower rings. Made of brass with a steel pin they were a great improvement of what had gone before. Derry Argue refined the design and produced swivels with either brass rings or stainless steel rings, both designs were produced with a stainless steel connecting pin. Franz Dorch of Vienna Austria, lighter brass swivels of a professional design which gave a more factory rather than hand made look. Martin Jones modern style all stainless steel swivel, with his characteristic flat topped upper ring to help the jesses stay in place. Is probably one of the best designed swivels on the market today.
