1800'S HANDCARVED BLACK FOREST FEMALE "FALCONER" PERCHED ON CARVED BLACK FOREST WALL SHELF 1 OF 2

Large high quality antique hand carved Lady Falconer sculpture resting atop a most highly carved antique black forest wall shelf. The wall shelf exhibits a pair of birds feeding on clumps of vines of grapes very detailed. The large hand carved solid oak sculpture is stunning. She appears to be of royalty as she is donning a crown and is dressed in attire synonamous to that of a princess or queen. The detail is remarkable and unmatched by any standard and the sculptor was a stickler for precise detail right down the loose ruffles of her blouse sleeves, to say nothing of the detail of the style of her hair and high definition facial features. In very good antique condition exhibiting the most beautiful oak patina only acquired through years of exposure to natural environmental conditions, it needs absolutely nothing except adoration for the creator. There is a companion male sculpture on a matching wall shelf we will be listing shortly. Both sculptures were probably created for some sort of architectural design as they both have on the backside a mounting hook. We displayed these on the wall shelves securing the sculptures to the wall shelves with Velcro. It works very nicely and they are very secure. All in all these are simply spectacular that's all I can say. Origin: Germany Age: Early to late 19thC ( 1840's to 1890's) Condition: Very good antique condition with original finish with minimal to no wood shrinkage so often seen in these earlier wood carvings Size: Sculpture height is approximately 24" by 8" in width and 5" in depth. The wall shelf is approximately 14" in height by 11" in width and 7" in depth. The combined Sculpture and wall shelf height is approximately 38" Layaway is availablefor this item at your proposed terms (to fit your budget) Int'l bidders please email us for shipping estimate prior to bidding Please Note: Sorry we no longer ship to Russia Federation
