Superb French bronze by Leon Pilet (1836 - 1916) called the Falconer or Le Fauconnier. This is a bronze statue of a falconer holding his arm aloft as the falcon lands. He is holding the falcon's hood in his other hand as he leans on the falcon's basket.

The statue is signed to the rear of the base. The bronze is beautifully cast and is of the highest quality. It was made c1900.

Leon Pilet exhibited in the French Salon 1861 to 1914.
