Description: This attractive original print originates from 'Punch, or the London Charivari', published in 1886.

Artists and Engravers: This plate engraved by Swain.

Subject: Plate : 'The grand old Falconer'. This plate shows a falconer in action with his falcons.

Condition: Good. General age related toning and light staining and/or soiling from handling. A few light creases. Minimal tear teft edge, not affecting image. Please study scan carefully.

Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 20.5 x 27 cm. The image size is ca. 18 x 24.5 cm.
Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 8.1 x 10.6 inch. The image size is ca. 7.1 x 9.6 inch.

Joseph Swain (29 February 1820 in Oxford – 25 February 1909 in London) was an English wood-engraver. He is best known from his engravings in Punch magazine of cartoons by Sir John Tenniel.
