Monument "winner" is a symbol of the Kalemegdan Fortress and the Belgrade but. It is located in a place perfectly visible from the mouth of the Sava and the Danube from Belgrade, Novi.

The monument is a symbol of victory over ImperiumTureckim Serbia and Austro-Hungarian Monarchy during the war from 1912 until 1918. It is the work of the famous sculptor Ivan Meštrovi? (1883-1962). Originally, the statue was to be part of a larger sculptural composition and had to stand on the central town square - Terazije. However, the idea has met with sharp criticism of society - especially the Belgrade ladies opposed placing the model of a naked man in such a representative place.
